SR5i Technical Manual TSP095.doc Issue 2.5 – Aug 2008 Money Controls 2008. The USB interface for ccTalk permits to connect a device which operates according to the ccTalk protocol to the USB port of a Personal Computer. The serial converter. The COM port emulation driver must be installed after this has completed.
Hello, I am trying to connect a SR3 coin mechanism to Sitekiosk and am having difficulty. When I search for a device under the SiteCash ccTalk Interface section it does not find the SR3 mechanism. I am running the latest version of SiteKiosk 7.1 (32bit) and have the required payment bundle etc.
I purchased the SR3 coin mechanism directly from Money Controls. When I ordered they asked a lot of questions about what mode the SR3 needs to operate under, when I mentioned SiteKiosk they were unaware of the software or how their device may work with it. They sent me the mech in Mode1 for ccTalk. Apparently there is also a ccTalk Interface required between the SR3 and the PC's serial port.
I am wondering if there is any specific ccTalk interface that is tested and working with SiteKiosk or the SR3 specifically? Please pass on to me any information that may be helpful in figuring out how to get my SR3 coin mechanism connected to SiteKiosk via the ccTalk Interface plugin of SiteCash. Thank you, Roger. Answer: (5) Re: ccTalk Device (SR3) not found. 15:42 ccTalk is a generall protocol that enables communication between Computers and payment devices (coin and bill acceptors) using the serial port (RS232/COM port). USB devices using a special driver to emulate a serial port can also be used. The protocol has been developed by the company Money Controls (formerly Coin Control).
You can find more information at the Money Controls website and at www.cctalk.org. Any coin or bill acceptors that supports the ccTalk protocol and connects with a RS232 (COM) or USB interface should be compatible. In some cases it may be necessary to edit the 'ccTalk.xml' file in the SiteCash directory. In the XML file 'ccTalk.xml' (in folder. SiteKiosk SiteCash) there are some commonly used configurations for different ccTalk devices. These configurations can be selected from the drop-down list on the configuration page.
You can also change the settings yourself by editing the existing configuration file. Using the checkboxes you can activate the channels and denominations that you want to allow in SiteKiosk. Indicate the denominations to be displayed in the description box e.g. This information will be displayed later in a dialog box unless you assign a different image for the denomination in the XML file. Use the 'Value' field to indicate the amount SiteKiosk should credit to the customer's account.
This is primarily important if you will be accepting more than one currency. For example, you want to have Swiss Francs as your main currency but Euros are also being accepted, the Euros will have to be converted into Swiss Francs. Re: ccTalk Device (SR3) not found. 20:32 Hello, I understand all of that, but I have here a Money Controls SR3 coin mechanism connected to a ccTalk interface which connects to my working serial port com1, when I open the ccTalk Interface section of the payment device configuration and click SEARCH it does not find the SR3??? Since it does not find the device it will not allow me to enable it.
If you have any suggestions that could help me understand why sitekiosk does not find my SR3 device please let me know. Re: ccTalk Device (SR3) not found. 15:24 If you have an additional payment device you should connect that to the machine to ensure that the hardware of the device you are testing is not faulty. I am able to activate the ccTalk payment device without have the device connected to the machine so you should be able to activate and enable the device whether it is found or not. After activating the device in your configuration file run SiteKiosk and test your device. After running SiteKiosk with your device activated, you can also check your log file to see any errors associated with the device. Re: ccTalk Device (SR3) not found.
21:13 Hello, I am looking for specific information about the Money Controls SR3 coin mechanism. It is listed as tested and working with SiteKiosk yet when I open the ccTalk Interface section of payment devices and hit the search button it does not find the device. After searching and failing to find the device it automatically removes the check mark from ENABLED.
If I start SiteKiosk it says 'Error: No Hardware Found' where the payment devices should be listed. The SR3 mechanism can be programmed to run in at least one dozen modes, I need to know what mode the SR3 was tested under and approved for working with SiteKiosk? Also, the SR3 requires a ccTalk interface to connect to the computer, I would like to know if the SR3 was tested with and needs a specific model ccTalk interface to work?
I have looked at the ccTalk documentation page, as I said, when I use the SEARCH button on the ccTalk Configuration page it does not find the SR3 and thus the SR3 fails to work. If you have any more specific information about the SR3 mechanism and how it was tested and shown to be working with SiteKiosk I would appreciate the info. Specifically, what mode is the SR3 mechanism supposed to be running in and what ccTalk interface model was it tested with and shown to be working??? Thanks Re: ccTalk Device (SR3) not found. 10:22 Hello, Just an additional note: The key when using the ccTalk protocol is that it depends not on a device from a specific manufacturer. If the coin checker and the interface (which will be used for connecting the coin checker to the serial or USB port) supports ccTalk it works. Therefore you should check if your SR3 coin checker and your interface do support ccTalk and if they are connected correctly to the computer.
If using the USB port you should also check the “USB to serial” driver installation which will be provided by the manufacturer of the ccTalk interface. You might also check your channel configuration as it can be different from the default settings. If you need any more specific information about the Money Controls SR3 coin mechanism you should contact the manufacturer of this device: Regards, Michael Olbrich.
